GoFundMe account set up for jackman hit in ARCA race
A GoFundMe account has been set up for Jon House, the jackman who was hit in Friday’s ARCA Racing Series race at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania.
House was struck by the No. 98 car of Gus Dean as Dean came into the pits under the second caution of the race. However, Dean had suffered a brake line failure causing him to spin entering his pit stall. Tire changer Pedro Martinez was also subsequently hit, but he was able to get back up and was checked and released from the infield care center.
According to the GoFundMe account, House was airlifted to a local hospital from the speedway where he underwent multiple CT scans and was diagnosed with two small brain bleeds. He also suffered a concussion, short term memory loss, a broken toe, bruised tailbone, and multiple bruises that will all see him in ICU for up to five days.
The GoFundMe account states that “We do not want the House family to have to worry about paying for the medical bills, medicine, and therapy in the future. Please help us raise as much as possible to help Jon House's Road to Recovery,” and has a goal of $20K.
At the time of writing, it has raised $1,000 by 12 people in the first seven hours.
