F1: Hamilton says he's feeling good ahead of Brazil race
World Champion Lewis Hamilton finally arrived in Brazil on Thursday after delaying his departure form Europe due to a fever.
It also emerged today that he was involved in a minor road accident in Monaco in the early hours of Tuesday, although he wasn't saying much about that.
“I feel good. On the up slope, whichever one it is,” he said. “A lot closer to 100 percent. Basically I had gone to Mexico on the Wednesday, worked all day Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - and then I had my mom's party and that killed me! That was pretty amazing, but I really felt it on Sunday and Monday.”
Hamilton reiterated that Brazil is a race he wants to win.
“I am excited to be here, this is a race that Ayrton struggled at for some time before he finally got his win, and this is a race I have not won out of all the tries I've had. So I am really exited to be here and glad we have got races to go, and the end of the season comes and you have a long, long wait until you get back in the car.
“So I am cherishing the moment I get back in the car still, and otherwise, not as excited for the break as usual, I don't know why. I will be busy, there are things I still plan to do and I am looking forward to the training season that is for sure, as I have put on a bit of weight over the last couple of months.”
Regarding his fight with Nico Rosberg he said: “I don't feel the intensity has changed, Nico is pushing, and obviously he doesn't want me to win and I don't want him to win, so that intensity stays the same. You end up naturally staying in the same zone.”
