Emotional interview with Emma Davies Dixon at Indianapolis 500
Emma Davies Dixon told motorsports journalist Chris Hagan that she “really didn’t think [her husband Scott Dixon] was coming home” after his dramatic crash on Lap 53 of Sunday’s Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

“I’m just glad he’s OK and really it’s just been the highs and lows this week,” said Emma Davies Dixon, who was with Scott when they were robbed at gunpoint at a Taco Bell drive-thru just a few hours after Scott had taken pole for the Indianapolis 500 last Sunday.
“I just thank God that he’s OK and I’m just so happy that he’s OK, that’s all that really matters,” she added. “That DW12 tub, we’re thanking our lucky stars for that tub today and IndyCar and the crew always do a fantastic job, to see them running to him that quickly.
"I was watching it and everything was moving really slowly in that moment for me but all I remember is seeing the safety crew get to him straight away.”
Scott Dixon was taken to the infield care center where he was checked, cleared and released but was walking with a limp, so he returned to get a walking boot fitted.
Scott Dixon will be back in action this weekend for the next IndyCar race in Detroit.
