Daniel Ricciardo has gone full American for the US GP

Red Bull Racing driver Daniel Ricciardo may be from Australia, but he is trying his best to win all of the American fans over this weekend in Austin.

If it wasn’t enough already that he races the No. 3 in memory of Dale Earnhardt, Ricciardo has changed his boots and his helmet for this weekend’s grand prix:

Additionally, the Australian has been conducting interviews up and down the paddock in an “American” accent, although it hasn’t came across as the most convincing. Hopefully he’ll have enough time to perfect it before he tries anything during post-race interviews this weekend… especially if he’s on the podium.

Ricciardo also spent some time on the Nelson Ranch in La Grange earlier this week, 100 miles South East of Austin.

“I had a great time,” said Daniel after the experience. “I honestly enjoy a bit of the Outback and a few of my mates back home have farms. Once the F1 season ends and I go home for Christmas, I’ll usually have a few days out there riding bikes all day and drinking beer in the evenings. Today was a little bit harder because I was actually working! Still very cool though – nice to experience something so different to what we normally do.”
