Chevrolet pays homage to Prince with Little Red Corvette ad

“Baby, that was much too fast. 1958 - 2016”

Chevrolet said all that needed to be said in eight words, just a few hours after Prince was found dead Thursday at his Paisley Park recording studio complex in Chanhassen, Minnesota, at the age of 57.

Using lyrics from Prince’s 1983 singe “Little Red Corvette,” the American-based car manufacturer posted an image with the aforementioned words to its Twitter account on Thursday and its Facebook account on Friday featuring a photo of one of its 1963 Corvettes:

The image also featured as a full-page ad in six newspapers on Friday: USA TODAY, New York Times, Detroit Free Press, Detroit News, Minneapolis Star Tribune and Los Angeles Times.

Neither the GM nor Chevrolet logos were used in any of the posts.
