7-year-old with leukemia gets dream ride in Bugatti
Seven-year-old Michael Hollis is a big fan of driving supercars on video games. Earlier this month, Make-A-Wish foundation and Park Place Dealerships teamed up to give Michael, who is currently battling leukemia, the ride of his life – riding shotgun in his dream car: A $2.62 million Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse.
Bugatti factory driver Butch Leitzinger, who has two class wins in the 24 Hours of Le Mans as well as three wins in the Rolex 25 at Daytona, drove the 1,200-horsepower supercar, capable of 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds, around San Antonio with Michael sitting in the passenger seat.
Although they didn’t quite hit the Veyron’s top speed of 255 mph, Michael thoroughly enjoyed the ride, and also got to sit in several more exotic cars back in the dealership afterwards.
Photos from Michael’s ride are available on Park Place Dealership’s website.
