DC United signs midfielder Branko Boskovic
Branko Boskovic, the captain of Montenegro's national team, has signed with D.C. United as a designated player.
The midfielder, who turns 30 on June 21, had been with Rapid Vienna since January 2007. He previously played for Montenegro's FK Mogren (1996-98), Red Star Belgrade (1999-03 and 2006-07), Paris Saint-Germain (2003-06) and Troyes (2005-06).
Boskovic has one goal in 18 appearances for Montenegro after scoring once in 12 games for the joint Serbia and Montenegro team from 2002-05.
He is expected to report to the MLS team next month. As a designated player, his salary counts only partially against the cap.
