DC United defender Marc Burch has toe surgery

D.C. United defender Marc Burch has undergone surgery to repair an arthritic big toe condition in his right foot.

United said Wednesday that Burch is expected to make a full recovery in time for the 2012 MLS season.

Burch played in 17 matches, including 11 starts, this year. He had one goal and one assist.
