Zobrist's timetable for A's return unknown after knee surgery
Oakland A's infielder/outfielder Ben Zobrist underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee on Tuesday, and by all accounts the procedure was 'successful'.
Despite that, CSN Bay Area reports that the A's will have to wait a bit for a clear picture regarding the timetable for his return.
There's no understating Zobrist's value to the A's, as he's become one of the most versatile and highly-sought players in the league (prompting Billy Beane to trade for him before the 2015 season).
Manager Bob Melvin didn't divulge much information, but what he did say on Tuesday gave weight to the surgeon's report:
“Dr. Dickinson said it went as well as we could have hoped, so that’s all I needed to hear,” Melvin said.
