Youngsters living up to reputation

The Cubs knew they were going to have some youth in the lineup this season and while the rookies – Addison Russell, Kris Bryant and Jorge Soler – are full of talent, it's never easy to predict how they will handle life in the Major Leagues.

So far, so good.

“These guys are handling themselves on and off the field in a manner well beyond their years,” Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein told Cubs.com. “When you see the quality at-bats they're having, the great plays they're making, and they're participating in some winning baseball, it's easy to forget how hard it is for young position players to have any kind of success in 2015 Major League Baseball.”

While the youngsters have played well so far, the season is still young. As the season wears down opponents will adjust to Bryant, Russell and Soler and it will be interesting to see if the trio handles those adjustments well.

But when those adjustments come, the Cubs have several veteran leaders on the club that should be able to help out.

It's impossible to predict the future, but based on early indications, the Cubs young prospects are as good as advertised.
