Watch Byron Buxton catch Mike Trout with 99-mph throw from center field

Minnesota Twins center fielder Byron Buxton showed off quite the arm Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Angels, catching one of the league's best baserunners in the process.

Angels outfielder Mike Trout rounded third and was headed for home on an Albert Pujols hit up the middle when Buxton came up firing from 240 feet out.

His throw -- clocked at 99.4 mph -- came in on one hop and allowed catcher Juan Centeno to tag Trout just before he crossed the plate.

It's the first time Trout has been nabbed on the basepaths since he was caught stealing on April 20 against the Chicago White Sox.

It shouldn't come as too much of a surprise. Buxton was the second overall pick in the 2012 draft out of high school, where he went 10-1 as a pitcher in his senior year and was clocked throwing a 99-mph fastball.

Suffice to say, his manager was impressed.

"Scouting reports will tell you that [Buxton]'s got a high-end Major League throwing arm," Twins manager Paul Molitor said. "It's near the top shelf. You're not going to see Mike Trout get thrown out too often on a base hit up the middle, even though the ball was scorched."
