Watch: A's give Blair silent treatment after first career home run

Sunday was a good day for Oakland Athletics rookie catcher Carson Blair.

Playing in place of 2015 All-Star Stephen Vogt (recovering from an injury sustained last week), Blair picked up his first career base hit in the seventh inning against Texas Rangers left-hander Andrew Faulkner.

He did so with authority, turning on an inside pitch and blasting it deep over the wall in left-center field for a home run. Afterward, his A's teammates rewarded him with a pretty great silent treatment before erupting with enthusiasm.

Watch the replay of the home run and silent treatment below, taking note of how the A's broadcast team more or less 'called' the homer, too:

As Jane Lee of MLB.com tweeted after the game, which the A's lost 12-4 to fall to 61-82 and ensure themselves a losing season for the first time in a while, the moment was pretty special for Blair:
