Twins rookie Miguel Sano gets first big league start at third
Miguel Sano got his first major-league start at third base on Wednesday and he did not disappoint.
The Twins rookie has been the designated hitter in all six games he's played in the majors but looked sharp defensively in his first start in the field.
"I felt normal," Sano said via Pioneer Press. "I played like I did in (Double-A) Chattanoooga."
Sano had three grounders hit his way, all of which he fielded flawlessly.
Pretty seamless," Twins manager Paul Molitor said. "He didn't rush, didn't panic. He was looking in, trying to get help with positioning, which is the right thing."
Molitor also said that Sano will remain the primary designated hitter with occasional playing time at third.
