Trout, Pujols get Angels started in a win over the Indians

GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) Mike Trout singled and Albert Pujols drove in a run in the Los Angeles Angels' 6-3 win over the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday.

Trout singled to load the bases in the first inning against Cody Anderson. Pujols' slow roller drove in d Yunel Escobar, who reached base on a throwing error by Francisco Lindor.

Gregorio Petit, who signed with the Angels as a free agent, hit two home runs off Anderson, who is competing for the Indians' open spot in the starting rotation.

Jason Kipnis and Mike Napoli hit home runs in the bottom of the inning off Angels starter Nick Tropeano. It was Napoli's third home run for the Indians.

Tyler Naquin had two hits for the Indians. Naquin, Cleveland's first pick in the 2012 draft, is taking advantage of Michael Brantley's absence while recovering from shoulder surgery.
