Travis d'Arnaud drove an RV from California to Mets camp in Florida
New York Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud was struck by an idea he just couldn't shake this offseason, so he embraced it.
As he explained to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo, d'Arnaud rented an RV so he and his brother, friend and their respective significant others could road trip from California to Port St. Lucie, Florida, where the Mets' spring training facility is located.

To hear d'Arnaud tell it, the whole idea seemed rather simple to him once he thought of it:
According to DiComo, d'Arnaud and his band of travelers stopped along the way at the Grand Canyon, Austin, Texas, and New Orleans -- where d'Arnaud indulged in his first beignet ever.
