Tigers' 2016 calendar features an unfortunate photo for January

If you're one of the lucky Detroit Tigers fans who received your favorite team's 2016 calendar as a holiday gift, it probably didn't take long for you to notice one huge, glaring problem.

The 2016 Tigers calendar (available in both wall and mini sizes at Barnesandnoble.com and Staples.com, among other retailers) features left-handed pitcher David Price for the month of January.

Price, as you might recall, was traded by the Tigers to the Toronto Blue Jays in July and recently signed a monster free-agent deal with the Boston Red Sox.

Sure, publishing deadlines likely played a role in this snafu. And turnover in sports nowadays is wild enough that it's almost impossible to go 12 for 12 in any team calendar by the folks at Turner Licensing, the company that created the product. But that understanding aside, we're talking the lead photo for January and not late summer after any trade deadline.

On the bright side, by the time baseball season starts, Price's page (the month of January) will have been a distant memory -- just like his time with the Tigers.
