Texas' Kinsler, Cruz hit HRs in 3rd straight game

Texas' Ian Kinsler and Nelson Cruz became the first set of teammates to both hit home runs in each of the first three games in a season.

Kinsler and Cruz each hit solo homers on Sunday. Kinsler's came in his second plate appearance, a day after he became the first player to hit a leadoff homer in each of the first two games of a season.

Only five other sets of teammates had ever homered in the first two games of a season, the last coming in 2003.

Kinsler and Cruz joined Dean Palmer, in 1992, as the only Rangers to open the season with such a streak. The only other major leaguer to do it this season is Mark Teixeira of the New York Yankees.
