Seager named Mariners' 'Heart and Hustle' Award winner again
Third baseman Kyle Seager is one of the cornerstones of the Seattle Mariners, and he was recognized as such on Tuesday.
For the second consecutive season, Seager was voted by the MLBPAA as the Mariners' recipient of the Heart & Hustle Award, a designation intended to reward the player's "passion, desire, and work ethic demonstrated both on and off the field".
As Bob Dutton of the News Tribune detailed, a player is nominated from all 30 MLB clubs for the award, and on November 10 one overall winner will be named stemming from a vote involving MLBPA members, fans and current players.
So far in 2015, Seager is hitting .267/.324/.446 with 14 home runs, 14 RBIs and his usual above-average defense at the hot corner.
