Royals go wild after locking up World Series title

The Kansas City Royals persevered in Game 5 of the World Series on Sunday night, locking up their first championship since 1985 with a dramatic 7-2, 12-inning win over the New York Mets at Citi Field.

After the game, the relentless, resilient, tireless Royals exhaled after a hard-fought postseason run with a raucous clubhouse celebration, and much of it was shared on social media. First off, manager Ned Yost was the (eventually) willing recipient of World Series MVP Salvador Perez's celebratory bath:

For Edinson Volquez, of course, this was especially meaningful. He took the mound for the Game 5 start and threw six innings of two-hit baseball just days after the unfortunate passing of his father. After the Royals wrapped up the win, he spoke with "Baseball Tonight" about his experience:
