Rockies pitching improved over last five games

The Rockies have now won four of their last five games, and the pitching has certainly been a major factor. Rockies starters pitched at least six innings in each of those games and had a collective ERA of 3.31 over that stretch, according to Purple Row.

Two newcomers contributed quality starts over that stretch -- David Hale and Chris Rusin -- and Chad Bettis continued to show improvement in his third start of the season.

Meanwhile, Kyle Kendrick’s 7 1-3 inning performance on Wednesday was good for his first win since Opening Day, and the Rockies’ first series win since a sweep of the Giants April 13-15.
