Report: Reds shopping Todd Frazier heavily

Many of the Cincinnati Reds’ players are on sale, and nearly everything in the store has to go. That includes arguably the team’s best player not named Joey Votto.

According to Reds reporter C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Reds are heavily shopping third baseman Todd Frazier.

Frazier, who will be 30 next season, has been an All-Star the past two seasons after increasing his home run total to 29 in 2014 and 35 last season. He rates as a very above-average offensive player while playing above average defense at the hot corner. He also is under team control through 2017, making him a pretty attractive asset.

The Reds aready have made efforts to trade Aroldis Chapman and agreed to send him to the Dodgers before the domestic dispute incident came to light, scuttling the deal. Besides Chapman, Frazier has the potential to bring back the greatest return to Cincinnati. For a team that is trying to rebuild, getting the most they can in return for Frazier is a must, which explains why they are heavily shopping him.
