Report: Hamels would 'rather not go to Toronto'

Philadelphia Phillies ace Cole Hamels has suggested that he wouldn't reject a trade to the Toronto Blue Jays, that he'd welcome any options.

That, however, might not be the case.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman has reported that he was likely just staying publicly neutral:

It is well within the rights of Hamels to reject whomever else he pleases, but recent heat led him to suggest – probably falsely -- that he'd consider the Blue Jays and Astros, two teams reported here and elsewhere to be clubs he wouldn't accept (Jays) or likely wouldn't accept (Astros). "He's just trying to say the right thing," says someone in the know who knows he's already told the Phillies he'd rather not go to Toronto.

The Jays would definitely benefit from an ace, but they might have to look elsewhere.
