Reds move Phillips to 2nd in batting order

Brandon Phillips was moved to second in the batting order for the slumping Reds for the first time since opening day.

Before Wednesday night's game, Phillips yelled at a reporter for mentioning his .310 on-base percentage over his 95 RBIs, which is among the National League leaders. He was batting .355 with runners in scoring position.

Manager Dusty Baker didn't mind Phillips tweeting but said, ''Ain't for me. I'm trying to get more private, not less private.''

The Reds had lost four of five and were trying to avoid a three-game sweep against the NL Central-leading Cardinals. Cincinnati entered Wednesday in third place in the division, 4 1/2 games behind the Cards.

Phillips tweeted after a 6-1 loss Tuesday that ''it was time to talk to POPS about changing my role! NEED NEW RESULTS ASAP! (hash)ALREADY.''
