Reds' Frazier wants to compete in Home Run Derby
Todd Frazier finished the 2014 Home Run Derby in second place and now that the 2015 contest is at his home park, he wants to try and win it.
"I want a shot. I think the Derby is one of the coolest things in baseball," Frazier told Reds.com. "When you're younger in the backyard, you play it with your buddies, that's how I treat it. Not only will I be doing it, but with my brother again as well. And in my hometown. I have a couple advantages and I need to take advantage of them. I'm going to take it a little more seriously than I took it last year."
The Reds third baseman said he learned from last year and is going to try to take those experiences into this year's contest.
"I learned to just relax a little more," Frazier said. "I talked to my brother about it in the offseason. There are a few things we need to change here and there. Not as many swings in between, because that's when you get tired."
Frazier, who had 29 home runs in 2014 already has 24 homers so far this season.
