Red Sox top prospect Henry Owens to start Tuesday - who is he?

Henry Owens, the Boston Red Sox top pitching prospect, will make his Major League debut on Tuesday against the New York Yankees.

It might be a risky move, having a guy make his debut at Yankee Stadium against a first-place team, but John Farrell wanted to keep his guys on schedule.

"Yeah, it's going to be probably the biggest stage that he's going to make his debut on — that the schedule has it," Farrell told MassLive. "But ideally having another lefthander go against that lineup in that ballpark. So we'll see him on Tuesday."

On the season, Owens has a 3-8 record, but a 3.16 ERA in 122 1/3 innings. He struggled with command early, but has been strong recently, posting a 2.84 ERA with 34 strikeouts and just eight walks in 31 2/3 July innings.

In case you're more of a visual person, here's a video of him striking out nine in a start against the Durham Bulls:
