Rays sell stake in USFL franchise
The Tampa Bay Rays are no longer in the pro football business.
The major league baseball team has sold its minority interest in the USFL's Florida Tuskers back to the football league that played its first season in 2009.
Last summer, the Rays made what club official Michael Kalt described as a ``modest'' investment - reportedly less than $2 million - in the Orlando-based Tuskers. The football team played one game at Tropicana Field, the Rays' home in St. Petersburg.
The USFL said Wednesday the league was grateful for Sunburst Entertainment Group's involvement last season.
Sunburst Entertainment Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Rays. The Tuskers will play all of their games in Orlando.
