Rangers rookie Nomar Mazara belts 491-foot HR, longest in MLB this season

The Texas Rangers have been without starting right fielder Shin-Soo Choo for most of the season due to a hamstring injury, but they've been just fine. That's because rookie Nomar Mazara has been nothing but spectacular in his place.

Mazara is hitting .322 with eight home runs in his first 163 career plate appearances, and he also owns the longest home run in the majors this season, according to Statcast. The rookie crushed one 491 feet to the upper deck in right field on Wednesday, as it left the bat at 108 mph.

It was 16 feet longer than Giancarlo Stanton's, which was previously the longest this season.
