Pirates to raise some ticket prices in 2012
It's going to cost a little more for the best seats at a Pittsburgh Pirates game next year.
The team announced Tuesday is it raising some of its ticket prices in 2012, the first increase in a decade.
The price of an average season ticket will rise from $15.30 this year to $16.11 next year, which will still rank near the bottom in major league baseball.
Seats directly behind home plate will cost up to $225 a game, a $30 increase, while season tickets for the lower infield box will rise $4 a game.
The Pirates, who lost 105 games a year ago, have improved greatly in 2011. The team is averaging 25,117 at PNC Park this season, an increase of more than 5,000 fans a game from a year ago.
