Pirates C Cervelli hit on wrist by pitch, leaves game

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Francisco Cervelli left Tuesday night's game at Texas after being hit on his left wrist by a pitch.

Cerveilli was in obvious pain after being struck by the pitch thrown by Adrian Sampson in the second inning. But he initially remained in the game, going to first base after being tended to by a trainer.

It wasn't until after an 0-2 pitch to Bryan Reynolds, the next batter, that Cervelli left the game. Elias Díaz entered the game as a pinch-runner and then replaced Cervelli behind the plate when the Pirates took the field in the bottom of the second.
