UPDATE (10:55 p.m. ET): New York Mets GM Sandy Alderson denied any trade was made.
Following Wednesday night's 7-3 loss to the Padres, Alderson told reporters, "There is no trade” for Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez and that a deal “will not transpire."

Gomez, 29, returns to the organization where he began his major-league career as a 21-year-old in 2007.
