New York Mets players deliver autographed present to young fan hit by foul ball

During Tuesday night's game between the New York Mets and Miami Marlins, Mets outfielder Jay Bruce skulled a foul ball into the crowd. En route to its final destination, the ball clipped the arm of a young Mets fan sitting in the first row and appeared to hurt -- or at the very least -- shock him.

After word spread of what had just transpired, the ball eventually found its way back to the Mets dugout -- where players signed it and gave it back to the same young fan as a special souvenir.

A little bit of pain in exchange for a lifetime of pleasure. Baseball remains forever awesome.
