New Michigan law: Leyland can't smoke at ballpark

The no-smoking law goes for Jim Leyland's workplace, too.

The Detroit Tigers manager won't be able to light up at Comerica ballpark anymore after a Michigan law banned smoking in most workplaces.

Leyland said he would obey the law, which went into effect Saturday.

While there wasn't even an ash tray in his office, the 65-year-old Leyland says he'll keep smoking, just not at work. The Tigers host the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday.

The cigar bars and tobacco specialty shops inside the stadium's Tiger Club are exempt.
