Nats put Rodriguez on DL with hurt back

Nationals catcher Ivan Rodriguez is going on the 15-day disabled list with a lower back strain.

The move is being made Monday, and is retroactive to Sunday.

The 38-year-old Rodriguez is batting .325 with nine doubles, a homer and 16 RBIs in his first season with Washington.

Rodriguez left Washington's 7-6 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday after hurting his back.
