Nationals' Jayson Werth (shoulder) out of lineup

NEW YORK (AP) Nationals right fielder Jayson Werth will remain sidelined for at least a couple of days after receiving a cortisone injection for his sore right shoulder.

Washington manager Matt Williams says Werth has a sprained AC joint, but an MRI showed no structural damage. Williams says Werth ''should be good to go'' after giving the shot a few days to take effect.

Bryce Harper was set to move over from left field and make his second start of the season in right Wednesday night against the New York Mets. Kevin Frandsen was in left.

Werth, the NL player of the month for July, is batting .279 with 12 homers and 63 RBIs. He had been playing through the injury for a little while before it worsened, causing him to miss Tuesday night's win over the Mets.

Washington began the day with a five-game lead in the NL East over Atlanta.
