Molina agrees to 1-year deal with Jays

Catcher Jose Molina has agreed to a one-year contract with the Toronto Blue Jays.

Molina has a major league deal for $400,000, and if he's on the opening-day roster he would be guaranteed $1 million: an $800,000 salary this year plus a $1.2 million club option for 2011 with a $200,000 buyout.

The 34-year-old spent the last two seasons with the New York Yankees and hit .217 last year with four doubles, one homer and 11 RBIs. He has a .235 average in 10 major league seasons with 20 homers and 136 RBIs, also playing for the Chicago Cubs (1999) and Angels (2001-2007).

Toronto placed right-hander Jesse Litch on the 60-day disabled list to open a spot on the 40-man roster.
