MLB should allow every player to wear these new Jackie Robinson Day cleats

With Jackie Robinson Day approaching on April 15, Adidas unveiled a new pair of special edition cleats Thursday designed to honor the man who broke the color barrier in baseball.

These special edition kicks are immediately eye-catching thanks to their unique newsprint-style design. They also feature an image of Robinson sliding into second as well as an embroidered No. 42 on the sides.

Even the subtle features for these shoes are cool. The cleats are made out of heather wool materials as a nod to the wool uniforms and hats players used to wear when Robinson first made his debut in baseball in 1947. The shoes also boast inspirational quotes from Robinson on the inside of the sock-liner to honor Robinson's character and impact on the sport.

Adidas athlete Ben Revere, an outfielder for the Washington Nationals, already received his pair of the cleats and he seems pretty impressed.

There are 15 MLB games scheduled for Jackie Robinson Day, and all players, coaches and managers will wear No. 42 that day in honor of Robinson. Hopefully players throughout the league will be rocking these cleats as well.
