MLB players, umps, executives meeting postponed

Major League Baseball says Friday's scheduled meeting among management, players and umpires has been postponed because of a death in the family of one of the participants.

The meeting, called at the request of the players' association, was to be held in the Orlando, Fla., area.

In the past, Commissioner Bud Selig has opposed expanding instant replay. But he's willing to let his special committee, which meets next week, consider changes.

''There are opinions everywhere on that,'' he said after the November owners meeting. ''Managers have opinions, general managers have opinions, owners have opinions. I want to hear them all and look at them.''
