Minor-league team is planning a Trevor Bauer drone bobblehead giveaway

Baseball is no stranger to bizarre injuries, but Indians right-hander Trevor Bauer took things to another level last postseason when he suffered a serious cut on his right pinkie finger in a drone accident. And now there’s a bobblehead to commemorate it.

The Reno Aces – the Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, who drafted Bauer third overall in 2011 – are holding a Trevor Bauer drone bobblehead giveaway on Aug. 19, according to the Plain Dealer in Cleveland. Bauer pitched for the Aces during the 2012 season before being dealt to the Indians' organization that offseason.

Bauer was a good sport after hearing the news:

Bauer suffered the injury just before the ALCS against the Toronto Blue Jays. Although he started Game 3 of that series, he recorded only two outs before being forced to leave the game because the stitches on his pinkie broke and blood was spurting all over him, the ball and the mound. He returned to pitch three times – two starts and one relief appearance – during the World Series.
