Mets fans, Yoenis Cespedes is here to pump you up for the Wild Card game

Yoenis Cespedes.

La Potencia is the only pump up you need. Our own Lion King, horse-riding, power-hitting outfielder came out with a comment that is guaranteed to pump Mets fans up for tomorrow’s game (like you aren’t already, I know, but you need to read this).

Everyone’s been talking about Madison Bumgarner. Mets fans are worried about facing him (don’t lie, we all are). His numbers are ridiculous and he basically single-handedly got the Giants to the World Series and won it for them in 2014.

Well, Cespedes acknowledged this, but also acknowledged another great fact that people have not really been talking about.

“Everybody knows what type of pitcher Bumgarner is,” Yoenis Cespedes said. “But I think the field has the last word.”

BOOM. LET’S GO. CUE ALL OF THE FIRE EMOJIS HERE.

If a comment can win the Wild Card, that comment would do it. Cespedes is ready. And that is a scary thing for the opposing team — and a beautiful thing for Mets fans.

I didn’t think I could be more pumped for this game (well, and anxious. I’m very anxious) and then I read this quote from Cespedes and I got chills.

The team is ready. We all know that if Cespedes is ready in turn that means Asdrubal Cabrera and Jose Reyes are ready because they’re pretty much the three  best friends that anyone can have.

“The field has the last word.” CHILLS. Cespedes is basically like “Bumgarner you can pitch as well as you want, but I still got this under control.”

Between this statement from Cespedes and the fact that he didn’t really partake in celebrations when the Mets clinched a Wild Card berth because he wanted to save his celebrations for a trip to the NLDS, you should be pumped up. Cespedes is confident. He’s ready to do this. He’s ready to celebrate for real.
