Mets create slip 'n' slide made of beer as they celebrate NLDS clincher

After winning a tough NLDS series against the Dodgers, the Mets went all-out in their postgame celebration.

With a clutch performance by second baseman Daniel Murphy that will be talked about for ages by Mets fans, New York advanced to the NLCS with a 3-2 win over the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Thursday.

After closer Jeurys Familia notched the final out of a rare six-out save, the Mets all flocked around the mound and reveled in the victory, which will send them to the National League Championship Series for the first time since 2006.

They later participated in the traditional champagne spraying in the visitors' clubhouse at Dodger Stadium, but there were a few unique touches to their celebration.

Shortly after the Mets celebrated amongst themselves on the field, manager Terry Collins ran along the left-field line to celebrate with fans, and was greeted with a passionate smooch on the cheek from an elated fan.

After the night's saviors, Murphy and Familia, got their proper beer dousing, the Mets decided to have some fun with the buckets full of beer they had on hand.

In a resourceful and imaginative twist, the Mets poured beer on the protective plastic sheeting on the floor and turned the clubhouse into a slip 'n' slide.

The Mets will host the Cubs on Saturday in Game 1 of the NLCS.
