Marlins' Ozuna launches mammoth home run off top of foul pole

Miami Marlins center fielder Marcell Ozuna had the baseball equivalent of a hole-in-one Thursday night.

Ozuna launched a towering two-run shot that landed directly on top of the foul pole in the second inning of the Marlins' 9-7 home victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.

The moonshot by Ozuna, which came off Philadelphia's Jerome Williams in the second inning, was directly down the left-field line. It bounced off the top of the foul pole that stands 344 feet from home plate and rises nearly 100 feet.

"I've personally never seen a ball hit the top of the foul pole like that, just a bomb," said Marlins manager Dan Jennings - a sentiment echoed by Miami third baseman Martin Prado.

"I have never seen something like that," Prado said. "I've seen (Marlins slugger) Giancarlo (Stanton) hit moon shots, but this one was up there with him."
