Lonnie Chisenhall activated from disabled list by Indians

CLEVELAND (AP) Outfielder Lonnie Chisenhall has been activated from the 15-day disabled list by the Cleveland Indians after recovering from a wrist injury.

Chisenhall is playing right field and batting seventh Wednesday night against Seattle. He injured his left wrist during spring training and was placed on the DL on March 28. Chisenhall made seven appearances in a minor league injury rehabilitation assignment before being activated.

He hit .246 with seven homers and 44 RBIs last season, when he started at third base, was demoted to Triple-A on June 7 and moved to right field when he returned in July.

Outfielder Collin Cowgill was optioned to Columbus after batting .083 (1 for 12) in nine games.

Outfielder Michael Brantley, who had right shoulder surgery in November, remains on the 15-day DL and is on a rehab assignment at Double-A Akron.
