Kyle Hendricks' no-hitter broken up with a heartbreaking home run in the ninth
Chicago Cubs pitcher Kyle Hendricks was just three outs from a no-hitter after a glorious performance Monday night at Busch Stadium, but Jeremy Hazelbaker - facing an 0-2 count - gave the Cardinals a consolation run with a leadoff solo homer.
Hendricks was taken out of the game after the home run, but he received an ovation from fans. The Cubs held on to a 4-1 win, and Hendricks picked up his 15th win of the year, dropping his MLB-best ERA to 2.03.
