Kris Bryant: 2016 Cubs 'would crush' 2015 team
Chicago Cubs star and MVP candidate Kris Bryant believes the 2016 Chicago Cubs are a much better team than last year's squad.
"We would crush them," Bryant told reporters.
Bryant and the Cubs won their 100th game of the season on Monday night, which marked the sixth time in which the team has collected triple-digit wins during the regular season. It is the first time that the Cubs reached 100 wins since 1935.
Last year's Cubs went 97–65 before losing to the New York Mets in the National League Championship Series.
This also marks the first time in which manager Joe Maddon has reached 100 wins in a single season.
Of the five other times in which the Cubs have won 100 or more games, they have reached the World Series on four of those occasions. The Cubs have famously not won a World Series since 1908.
