Jays' Josh Donaldson discusses incredible catch
If you haven't seen Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson leap into the stands to make one of the best catches you'll ever see, do yourself a favor and watch it here.
After the game, Donaldson talked about the catch with Sportsnet:
“When it was hit I thought it was kind of going to be right on the line, right on the first row or whatever. As I kept running, I could see that it was kind of drifting off a little bit and I felt like I could still make a play at it. The last time I looked down at the wall, I knew I was going to have to jump over the wall to make the catch. The last thought that was probably in my head, was to try to get over top of the people because it’s natural for fans, when the ball is in the stands, for them to reach up and stand up, so I was just trying to get up over the fans to be able to catch the ball.”
He also sent a shout out to the fans in the stand on Twitter:
