Indians' Talbot strikes out 6 in row

Indians pitcher Mitch Talbot struck out six consecutive Tampa Bay hitters to match a club record.

Talbot, traded by the Rays to Cleveland in December, struck out two in the first, the side in the second and B.J. Upton leading off the third on Saturday to equal a mark shared by Bob Feller (1938), Bartolo Colon (2000) and Chuck Finley (2002).

With a chance to break the record, Talbot retired Kelly Shoppach, the player he was traded for, on a grounder to short.

The major league record is 10 straight strikeouts set by Tom Seaver of the New York Mets on April 22, 1970. The AL record is eight.
