Guardians-Yankees ALDS Game 2 postponed to Friday

Game 2 of the ALDS between the Cleveland Guardians and New York Yankees, which was scheduled for 7:37 p.m. ET on Thursday night in New York, has been postponed due to "the forecast of sustained inclement weather," the Yankees announced.

The game will be played on Friday, Oct. 14 at 1:07 p.m ET.

The Yankees were set to send Nestor Cortés Jr. to the mound for Game 2 with the Guardians combating the southpaw with right-hander Shane Bieber. With the postponement, both teams will have two full days off and roughly 62 hours in-between the conclusion of Game 1 and the start of Game 2.

On Tuesday, Gerrit Cole surrendered just one run over 6.1 innings, while Harrison Bader and Anthony Rizzo both homered to lift New York to a 4-1 victory. The Yankees knocked Guardians starter Cal Quantrill out of the game in the sixth inning. Steven Kwan's solo home run in the third made up Cleveland's lone run.
