Gonzalez likens Braves' bullpen struggles to Groundhog Day

The Atlanta Braves have had a rough time coming away with wins in games in which they lead in the late innings, and manager Fredi Gonzalez is getting all too accustomed to the bullpen's futility.

"It happens around the same point in the game, too," Gonzalez said after the Braves squandered a late 4-1 lead Thursday to the Padres. "It's like Groundhog Day."

The bullpen's inability to hold onto leads has played a big role in the Braves' absence from the top of the standings in the NL East, as Atlanta is currently 3.5 games behind the division-leading New York Mets with a 30-33 record on the season.
