Giants international signee Lucius Fox visits AT&T Park

The Giants made a splash last week when they signed 18-year-old Bahamian player Lucius Fox for $6 million. Fox was ranked third among the available prospects by MLB.com and fourth by Baseball America.

Special assistant to the GM Felipe Alou raved about the switch-hitter’s skills. Per the San Jose Mercury News, he said:

“I believe he has the inside track already...Speed and the way he attacks the ball from both sides of the plate is outstanding. I always wished I would sign a young guy like that.”

Though he returned to the Bahamas for his senior year of high school, he played the rest of his high school years in the United States. Fox spoke about the experience:

“It made me become a man much sooner and even the baseball there made my game even better.”
