Gerardo Parra suffers scary leg injury after Trevor Story dives into him
Colorado Rockies outfielder Gerardo Parra suffered an apparent leg injury Tuesday when shortstop Trevor Story dove into him trying to field a fly ball.
Yankees outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury hit a shallow fly ball to left field in the third inning. As Parra settled under it, Story continued to chase the pop-up, eventually diving and colliding with Parra's legs.
Parra immediately went down after making the catch and flipped his glove off his hand. He started waving toward the dugout, likely requesting medical attention, and slammed his other hand on the grass.
Story appeared shaken up after the play, standing beside Parra with his hands on his knees. Parra was carted off the field. The Rockies have yet to give an update on Parra's condition.
